Duke breaks down a new scheme from 34 Odd featuring several unblockable blitzes!

34 Odd Defensive Scheme

Playbooks: ANY 34 Based Playbook or Multiple/NE

Setups:

Cross Fire 3:

Setup 1 (5 Man):

  1. Base align
  2. Spread out DL
  3. Blitz the ROLB (left of screen)
  4. Shade up or down
  5. User the RILB (left of screen) in coverage

Setup 2 (6 Man):

  1. Base align
  2. Spread out DL
  3. Blitz both OLB’s
  4. Shade up or down
  5. User the RILB (left of screen) in coverage
  6. Adjust the coverage as you wish

ANY Play:

*For these setups, always make sure the blitzing ILB is lined up slightly to the left of the RG so his blitz angle goes to the left!

Setup 1 (5 Man):

  1. Base align
  2. Spread DL
  3. Crash DL down
  4. Globally blitz all LB’ers
  5. Put the LOLB (right of screen) into coverage
  6. User the RILB (left of screen) in coverage

Setup 2 (6 Man):

  1. Base align
  2. Spread DL
  3. Crash DL down
  4. Globally blitz all LB’ers
  5. User the RILB (left of screen) in coverage

Final Thoughts:

This is my favorite defense to use against 2 TE/3 TE formations or people who like to run the ball in general. You always can keep the basic Cover 4 in your audibles for your dedicated run stopper. This formation has great run defense plus you can bring similar unblockable blitzes to the setups from Dollar/335 formations with much better run defense at the same time!
